This scheme included the detail design of paving and planting round the parking and pedestrian areas.

University of Glamorgan

While acting as a Landscape Consultant for the Welsh Ministry of Agriculture, Sarah was employed to design a landscape refurbishment scheme for the University of Glamorgan campus.

This scheme included:

  • New planting areas
  • Timber planters
  • Seating areas
  • Water features
  • Landscape setting for sculpture
  • Retail Developments

The IKEA Store illustrated is one in Thurrock on the Lakeside development shortly after planting. It is one of three IKEA sites that Sarah has designed. The others being Nottingham and Bristol.

Sarah has had sole responsibility for the landscape development of these sites up until the planning consent stage.

    Housing Developments

Sarah has worked on numerous housing schemes including projects for English Courtyards and Knightstone Housing Association.

They included planting designs, garden design for sheltered housing and a roof garden for a refurbished building in Bath.

In all cases special drawings, plans and illustrations were provided to gain planning consent.

    Play Areas

Sarah has designed many play areas for both primary and secondary schools as well as a number of public ammenities.

One such design for a children's play area in Cardiff (shown above) was featured on a BBC Open University Programme as an example of a well designed and safe play area.

    Garden Design

Sarah has designed many private gardens for residents in and round the Stroud area.

These range from small gardens for terraced houses in central Stroud to large gardens of several acres in size for clients living in the neighbouring villages.
